We are currently seeking a Higher Education Instructional Technologist for our client in the Education domain. Duration: 5 Month Contract + possible extension

Location: Remote or Chicago IL

Role: Higher Education Instructional Technologist (Part time 10-20 hours/week)

 

Primary Skills: Instructional Designing

 

Role Description: The Higher Education Instructional Technologist would need to have at least 1+ years of experience. In this role as a Higher Education Instructional Technologist, you will assist with the development of online Distance Learning courses.

 

As the Designer, you will work with Adjunct faculty to develop courses. Baseline material will be in classroom format or in some cases they will be developed from scratch. You should preferably have experience in higher education. Must be able to consult faculty member on treatments for materials to insure they are instructionally sound. Courses are offered in CANVAS LMS.

 

As the Instructional Designer, you will use CANVAS to create materials. Courses are Asynchronous. You are also responsible for making sure all courses stay on project timeline.

 

Must incorporate instructional strategies to make the material effective online.

 

Other Duties:

 

- Collaborate with staff on the Distance Learning and other stakeholders at the University to design, develop, and support high quality online and blended courses.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a high degree of understanding and transparency of the online course design process.

- Support faculty with the integration of learning technologies in their instruction.

- Ensure that instructional material is ADA compliant.

- Review existing online courses to identify and suggest design revisions.

 

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)

 

- A Master’s degree in instructional design, learning science, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and comparable skills.

- At least one year of formal or informal experience designing online and blended courses in a higher education context.

- Experience with Canvas LMS

- Experience with project management.

- Experience and adeptness with learning technology platforms and tools, for example, Google Deive, Adobe Connect, Camtasia, Jing, VoiceThread, Panopto, Google hangouts, Zaption.

 

Education: Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Science/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent
