Mastech Digital provides digital and mainstream technology staff as well as Digital Transformation Services for leading American Corporations. We are currently seeking a Systems Analyst, Senior for our client in the Federal Services domain. Role: Systems Analyst, Senior

Primary Skills: Linux 

Role Description:
The Systems Analyst, Senior would need to have at least 5+ years of experience. In this role, you will be supporting the Production Support team.

Responsibilities: 

- Monitoring various web applications, mainframe batch reports, file transfers and connectivity, MicroStrategy reports.

- Create mainframe daily cycle reports and communicate via email to team.

- Application report review/password expiration reminder emails to applicable users.

- Work assigned production tickets with quality and timeliness, Help Desk and Service Requests.

- Update various reports and tracking spreadsheets.

- Escalate identified production issues timely to Production Support Leads and/or appropriate team resource.

- Perform system tests to software requirements. 

- Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, and reliability characteristics.

- Records all inputs and outputs of systems, including file sizes, data bank requirements, variability of information and appropriate statistical measures such as frequency, volume, peaking, etc.

- Monitors system effectiveness in satisfying user needs.

- Writes or updates software specifications.

- Performs quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery.

- Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users.

- Develop knowledge of business rules and business operations.

- Monitor multiple applications to ensure functioning as designed in the production environment.

- Review multiple production system alerts and react accordingly.

- Understand the business need, communication and/or solution of identified production issue and impact on the end user, understanding the urgency of an identified or potential system issue.

- Work with the Production Support Leads to assess impact of issues and devise plans to see them through to resolution.

- Identify ticket trends and communicate plan of action to Production Support Leadership.

- Support internal and external customers by responding to ad hoc data and/or report requests.

- Review existing system functional capabilities to identify changes required for implementing new PLOG/CR requests for system efficiencies.

- Prepares and updates Production Support documentation for new or existing systems.

- Develop and/or revise existing SOPs.

- Create and maintain FAQs.

- Participate in Special Projects as needed.

- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Education:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to discuss business applications with subject matter experts and developers.

- Ability to solve issues independently and with others.

- Thrive in fast paced, team-oriented environment.

- Self-motivated and innovative; Must be an independent worker who is comfortable gathering input, formulating a plan, and carrying it to fruition.

- Organized, structured, methodical, and diligent; possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize issues and assignments daily.

- Excellent people skills required to interact with teammates/contractors and build consensus around effective process and procedure while recognizing other priorities within the group.

- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and responsibilities daily.

- Experience with MS suite, specifically Excel. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent
