Role: Senior Enterprise Architect


Primary Skill: IT Architecture


Role Description: The Senior Enterprise Architect would need to have at least 10 years of experience. In this position, you will be responsible for creating, communicating, and facilitating adherence to enterprise-wide application architecture, technology strategy and standards, architecture and design principals, guidelines and common solutions.


As the Senior Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for advancing application architecture in support of the company's business and IT strategy, and developing roadmaps and blueprints to ensure architecture goals are met in both tactical and strategic frames.


You will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders including business, Application Development, risk domains, operations, OCIO, etc. to assure solutions cost effectively address the broad range of functional and non-functional requirements necessary to uphold the company's brand image and meet industry needs.


Position requires highly advanced technical skills in multiple technical domains along with demonstrated ability to master new technical domains to a level sufficient to contribute to the technology strategy, vision, requirements, and solutions for large-scale initiatives or as needed. Exceptional teamwork, communication and leadership skills, particularly the ability to influence, are vital to being effective in this position.


Specialized knowledge of the company's applications and/or financial industry post trade solutions is a significant differentiator among candidates. Candidates who lack such knowledge will be expected to rapidly develop financial industry post trade domain knowledge. Position requires highly advanced analytical skills and demonstrated leadership capability.


Business Unit Description:

IT Architecture develops enterprise application architecture strategies, patterns, standards and reference implementations in alignment with overall IT strategy and the needs to the Application Development function.


Principal Responsibilities:


Solutions Architecture


- Understand business needs and IT strategy and assets to identify optimal solution architecture appropriate to business needs and technology context

- Understand implementation context and team capabilities to provide appropriate guidance for team to successfully implement solution architecture

- Work with wide range of stakeholders to assure solution architecture enables solution team to addresses the needs of all stakeholders

- Assist with early stage solution development including contributing to business cases and estimation

- Assist with project execution including input to project planning and risk identification

- Assist with project closure including assessing and helping managing risks to closure


Application Architecture Practice


- Research leading ideas, methodologies and technology to enable superior delivery capabilities.

- Develop business analysis/business case for adoption of changes in the company's application architecture practices

- Assist compliance and governance when adopting new practices as well as partnering in development of appropriate governance for new technologies and application architecture practices


Application Architecture


- Drafts conceptual and logical architecture specifications at both the enterprise and project level

- Assists project teams and Product Managers when documenting new functionality to assure compliance with Project-appropriate enterprise processes (SDLC/Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps)

- Assists project teams during system design with the drafting of logical architectural models

- Assists project teams during system design to promote the efficient re-use of IT assets

- Advises project team during system development to assure compliance with architectural principles, guideline and standards

- Shares the Company’s architectural vision with stakeholders through informal discussion and formal presentations

- Ensures application designs meet the architectural blueprint for business applications

- Provides technical guidance to cross-functional, cross-platform application development teams


Technology Architecture


- Contributes to the technology strategy, vision, requirements, and solutions for large-scale domain specific initiatives

- Contributes to "buy vs. build" analyses of proposed business solutions

- Identifies, understands and documents extensions to, and variants from, architectural guidelines

- Promotes the development of, and adherence to, processes which assure consistent methods for development of new or enhanced business capabilities by:


- Representing the Domain to interested management committees

- Interacting with the Architecture Office to help define, publish and maintain processes for compliance to Architectural principles, guidelines and standards

- Interacting with the Architecture Office to help define, publish and maintain processes for software development and deployment, evaluation and selection of third party products, and retirement of obsolete technologies.


- Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
